The Gospel of John 1:9-13 (John 1:9, John 1:10, John 1:11, John 1:12, John 1:13)

This text explains that Jesus is the true light and was in the world. However, despite being in the world, Jesus was not recognized as the true light by the people. The text emphasizes that only those who receive and believe in Jesus' name can become children of God. Those who have not yet accepted Jesus should to do so by acknowledging their sin, believing in Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection, and putting their faith in him. This text dispels the myth that everyone is a child of God and makes it clear that being a child of God requires receiving and believing in Jesus.

The Gospel of John 1:6-8 (John 1:6, John 1:7, John 1:8)

In this text, John the Gospel writer focuses on John the Baptist, Jesus' cousin. He describes how John the Baptist was sent by God as a witness to bear witness about the light, which refers to Jesus. John the Baptist did not see himself as the light but rather as one who came to bear witness about the light. It is important to learn from John the Baptist's example of playing second fiddle to Jesus, and not thinking of oneself as the big deal. The testimony of one's life should bear witness to the fact that Jesus Christ is the big deal.

The Gospel of John 1:1-5 (John 1:1, John 1:2, John 1:3, John 1:4, John 1:5)

This text is an introduction to the Gospel of John, written by John, one of the disciples of Jesus, between 85 and 95 AD. Unlike the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke), John's Gospel is unique, although it includes many similar accounts. The text introduces the foundational framework of the doctrine of the Trinity and reveals that the Word (Jesus) was with God at the beginning and was God. In John 1:3, it is stated that everything was created through Jesus, which is an essential concept for Christians to understand.

John's Gospel is unique and has gained a higher profile than much of the rest of Scripture over the last 2000 years. It is an essential text for new believers or anyone checking out Christianity. It introduces the doctrine of the Trinity and helps to understand the significance of Jesus beyond just being a savior.
